This is what most of my weekends have been contisting of for the past 6+ years that I’ve been in school. After graduating from High School with my firstborn on the way, my mindset was to go to City College and get an AA as a graphic designer and look for a job as soon as possible. Of course that was much easier said than done. But after figuring my way though college, working part time, and with my second child in mind, I decided I wanted to try and transfer to State.
It was scary, I didn’t have someone from my family that could guide me through this process and that could assure me that I could do it. I had to believe in myself and I had to stay focused to accomplish my goals. All those long nights of doing homework after I had put the kids to sleep and waking up early in the morning to get them ready for school and child care, I am so grateful for all of my support system that has been a part of my success. Thanks to my family, friends, professors, mentors, boss, coworkers, and to the child development center.
I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel. I’m so excited to spend my afternoons doing laundry every other day, and not having to worry about homework, but instead spending time on passion projects.
